As Bulgaria adopts the euro as its official currency on January 1, 2026, we would like to inform you about important updates coming to PIS API Live version 2.1.0:
• Discontinuation of BGN payment products
The products Domestic-credit-transfers-bgn and Domestic-budget-transfers-bgn will be retired, as payments in BGN will no longer be supported.
• Introduction of instant euro transfers
A new product, Instant-sepa-credit-transfers, will be available for executing instant credit transfers in euro after 20.01.2026. A sample payment request definition is already accessible in the sandbox environment for your convenience.
• Budget payments in euro
For local budget payments, please use the product sepa-credit-transfer. Budget-specific details (debtor ID and payment category) will now be included in a new attribute called ultimateDebtor.
